I have shaped lots of nickel silver (made a few spatulas out of it, for that matter).
The easiest way to shape it is to cut it to rough shape with a hacksaw (24 or 32 teeth per inch blade), then file to final shape. You could use some fine sandpaper (400 grit, followed by 600 grit) to get rid of file marks, but grinding is not necessary or recommended. If you have access to a metal-cutting bandsaw, you can cut it out even faster, but don't use a wood-cutting bandsaw; the blade speed is way too high, and you will just end up ruining the blade.
