I can only address 1. because I've never played a 1250-B.

The 1270/1271 has a wrap that looks more like a Conn than the typical King. Our local high school band has one (owned by the director). The horn plays well in tune and has a typically 'sweet' King charactter to its sound, but with more bottom richness than a 1250. You wouldn't mistake it for a 20K, but you'd say it was at least as big a sound as a 20K, maybe even a little bigger. Not as broad a 'full basement' sound like a 46/48K Conn Jumbo. It's a nice playing horn. For me, it doesn't speak as easily as a 20K, but I have always found that the big Conns speak very easily. It has plenty of punch, though and is not as easily overblown as a 1250. All in all, a very nice horn.
