They are in tune. And trust me, if you think you're anal about tuning, you may have met your match :) Though I do feel the burn with the low Eb's....... (lippin down just don't cover it!) I guess saying that is hasss to be 3 valve, well it doesnt absolutely have to be. In all actuallity, it could be anything, as long as its a BBb, and has a great sound that won't send me to hell and back trying to keep it in tune. (vavles too!!! need very quick, light action.)
I guess I may be a bit missleading. I don't know anything about good tubas. I can play. But i dont know anything about its makeup. Mainly cause I've only ever had one.
Which is, to say, a Besson BBb, 3/4 3 valve Imperial.
