Was that trombonist Norman Bolter? If so, I am envious of your experience. To this day, I still remember the job he did on the Empire recording of the Ewald quintets. That group of players was particularly good with the Ewalds and I was always looking for an opportunity to hear them live. For me, that Ewald recording was something really special. Especially the trombone work (all the other players did great jobs too) really influenced me. I wish that recording could be re-released. I wore my old Sine Qua Non tape out years ago.
