Shane,

Apart from spelling errors, the Holton/Holten poster managed to get his point across, yes?
In my mind that is reasonably and adequately effective. Think it through a bit and like many of us you may find yourself agreeing.

Even one of our more well-regarded-by-some posters (CK in TX) would fail your communication skills criteria, but so what? It is quite possible to communicate well with less than stellar grammar, or punctuation, many of our members demonstrate this quite well.
While your point has merit, it is out of its proper context, for to criticise someone or the content of their statements is a critique which belongs more in an English 1 undergrad class than on a publicly-accessable Internet BBS.

Much of effective communication can lay in when one choses to participate, and (IMO) your choice to critique the Holton/Holten poster (while having no personal experience or knowledge in the subject topic) did nothing to further the discussion - demonstrating your opportunity to further hone your own communication skills.

Regards,

Dale
