Pitch problems are not something you develop. It is something you would have from the very beginning. You should have evaluated your pitch tendencies on each of your horns well before your conductor makes you aware of them. Pitch tendencies are not an issue that an orchestral conductor should have to tell you about. It is your responsibility as a potential professional musician to know all of the idiosyncracies regarding your instruments.

Selling your horn is not a solution to correct your pitch problem. In essence you are furthering your pitch problems by switching to a foreign instrument that has different tendencies to which you are forced to adapt. You can't run away from problems that you should be tackling head on. Don't be afraid to go the extra mile and create a pitch tendency chart or play your rehearsals with a tuner in front of you.

Good Luck!!!
