Andy, what is unbelieveable is that you would repeat that comment about "4 major job openings" publicly!!!

Here's hoping that all those rumored to be retiring or ill are in fact NOT sick, and that they chose NOT to retire just yet. Or (here's the fun part) that they arrange for a one-year appointment for one of their competent, and mature friends. If any of these guys really ARE sick, then you allshould certainly see in THAT that "life isn't fair." Nevertheless, perish the thought that of YOU (current crop of ill-mannered young practice room jocks) should be denied the chance to "fairly audition."
If these stories are true, my fervent wish (for the sake of the entire
back rows of each of the 4 or 5 orchestras you buzzards are salivating over)
is that EVERY ONE of the orchestras dreamed of MAKE A 1-YEAR APPOINTMENT WITH PLANS TO SELECT THAT PLAYER.

Go flip burgers and gain a little humility. Go dig rubble in Manhattan and gain a little humanity. Maybe the Peace Corps, hell SOMEthing! Just go do SOMEthing that will challenge you to be better people, obviously playing tuba hasn't done it for you yet.
