I feel your pain but, from your description, I doubt that you have a PT-4. A PT-4 should have "B&S Klingenthal - Perantucci Model # xxxxxxxx Made in Germany" engraved on the bell. I have played one and own a PT-3 and I can tell you that mine is one of the most comfortable and easiest horns I've ever played. Sanders, as you wrote, is made in China and the horns are - well, no Perantucci's! I had the unfortunate experience of playing a Sanders Piggy knock off and the horn was pretty pathetic. I could pick up the instrument with one finger and it could be dented with ridiculous ease. The intonation required lots of alternate fingerings. The sound was "enemic" at best!
