You problem with being sharp might be your mouthpiece size. if you want to get it altered I would go with Matt himself. You might pay a little bit more but you will get the best results. For the valves if they are the old valves then there isn't much that you can do except to get a new valve set fitted to your horn.
I personaly love my PT4P and so has everone that I have allowed to play the horn. It has the new valves so it is much better. In fact it is the 2nd best horn that I have ever played.
