Does anyony have any insight as to why the tuba is used so little in this symphony? It doesn't make any sense to sit on stage all that time to play only fourteen notes. Dvorak obviously knew how to use the tuba. I have often thought that perhaps his publisher (Simrock)lost the parts or even the original score. I have played this symphony many times and each time I hate it more and more because of all that idle time you spend on stage.
