I've tried the heavey walled pieces, and they don't work. We're already playing through damn cannons why make it harder? Heavy walled pieces make the high register flat and uninteresting and makes the articulation slow and thuddy. Not to mention the ugggggyyy sound that dosen't match with anything. I've played on very shallow thin Marcinkiewicz pieces on all my cc's for many years and there is no problem with distortion (breaking up) especially at loud volumes, and the reponse is fast, to say the least. Think about it guys, vibration makes sound. Heavy thick metal by your face is not the answer.
Good luck,
AL
