I've been playing a borrowed 321 and hated it until I started using a Schilke 51D mouthpiece, which made it sound much better (opened the tone up) and got rid of a lot of intonation problems. It's a very deep cup, quite different from others with the same rim diameter. So despite the admonition to stick with your current mouthpiece, I'd say take the horn into a shop and try a 51D.
