The problem you are having is maybe too wide and airstream for that small of a horn. I also play tuba and i play on a yamaha 321 euph. those horns are sharp any way, I play at least half way out on my slide. Your mouth piece choice is a good one for that horn, so keep with it if you like the feel. tho a larger aperture might feel for comfortable. But dont change if it feels all right. You must just shrink down the opening where the air is passing through your emboucher, not tighten, still relaxed. use a mirror, look at the way your lips form a narrow ribbon of air, and then without moving your lips, place your mouthpice on them and buzz in to the horn.
This kind of relaxed exercise should help lower the pitch, I also recommend, slow low lip slurs. it will take time, but itll be worth it.
