I would suggest you take some lessons with good teachers and establish a good daily routine that is efficient and keeps you playing at a comfortable level of accomplishment. Then I would look around for players that would be interested in forming a chamber ensemble like a brass quintet. That way, you can rehearse regularly, schedule gigs on your own times and terms, and work with who you want to. You know what they say, music is the best hobby in the world!
