The King 1241/2341 is probably the classic 4/4 tuba. The bore is .687, which is on the small size for a 4/4 horn, but was King's 'medium' bore for 75 years or more. (Large bore for King was .750", found on the Giant (1270/1271) sousaphone, some large bore rotary basses in the mid-1930's and available on the tall pit orchestra bass by special order.
By contrast, Conn's 2XJ series would be 5/4 horns, and the smaller Conn basses that were still "Monster" BBb, CC or EEb basses would be the 4/4's of the Conn line. The Conn bore for "Monster" was .734, Conn's larger bore was the .770" of the big Grand Orchestral, the 3XJ recording basses and the Jumbo Sousaphone (48K).
