If you take a 6/4 instrument and put larger bore rotary valves on it, it becomes a 5/4, like R.M.

The fractions are stupid and meaningless.

Far more accurate is

small
medium
large
extra large
extremely large

perhaps with "top-action/front-action" / "3V/4V/5V/6V" / and "piston/rotary" after

the verbal size designation
