A U.S. company Enco (has a website) sells decent cheap machine tools.

You can by a set of stainless steel 6 inch long dial calipers (metric or standard) for around $15 or less from them.

If you purchase some calipers, you can measure the I.D. and O.D. of slide tubes that you need to duplicate. Once you're armed with accurate information, you can root around various sources and try to find tubing that will work on your instrument.
