When I was at UT(exas), they brought back student government for the first time since it was disbanded because of - er - 'problems' during the Viet Nam war. Of course, student government (as always, and rightly so) was toothless. A hallucination named Hank T. Hallucination was nominated for student body president, with the slogan "The perfect candidate for the illusion of student government". Hank received the most votes, but the school, in their usual dry way, simply explained that only students were eligible, and they had no record of a student by the name Hank T. Hallucination.
At the time, I thought they had no sense of humor; now I realize that we were too stupid to get their joke.
Joe Baker, who thinks University administrators have more sense of humor than we give them credit for.
