It plays quite well in BBb (just about equal to CC), and that feature can get someone out of a few performance/rehearsal situation jams for two or three months while (in the practice room) working on the CC fingerings.
The tuba is now completely repaired - like-new mechanically and extremely nice cosmetically.
As far as past history, the winning bidder's max bid was several hundred $$$ higher than $2150. Kinda' reminds of the guy who comes in second in a foot race - complaining of bad judging - when second place was a half-mile behind the winner. The current bid (as of this post) is $2550.
