You're exactly right Patrick. Three weeks ago I tried to buy this exact same Wm Bell tuba now on e-bay precisely because my high school daughter is trying to move to CC. She plays CC at home and a BBb at school--it's driving her crazy.
Mid-South Music, the winning bidder in the earlier auction dropped in a bid ($2158) with 10 seconds to go. Mid-South is now doing a great job of marketing the tuba all over the net trying to drive the price up in a new auction on e-bay. There's no doubt it's a good tuba--and that Mid-South is marketing it well.
But using the 5th key to make it a (poor) BBb isn't going to help one learn CC.
