the 187 is to the BBb 186 like the 188 is to 186CC.
the tuba is slightly wider than the 186 and the bows are shorter on the side than the 186.
the bore and bell is the same as the 186 with the difference being that the taper gets bigger slightly starting from the end of the tuning slide to the bell. It is not alot bigger just slightly bigger all the way to the bell.
it is a very fine tuba and very free blowing and nice big full dark sound and barely heavier than the 186. No one sells it that much because of the slightly higher price difference.
I personally like the freeness and sound of the 191 better than the 187 but the 191 is a compact and the 187 is a standard style Miraphone.
The 186 and 187 fit the same Generic case and gig bag. They will not fit the sme custom Miraphone molded case.
