I take my horn (euph) to Brass n' Reed in Daytona Beach, Fl. Billy Berthrong is the guy who does the brass work. He told me he uses 'Phosphoric acid' to clean out the inside of the horn. He said that the acid bath is only part of the story... he uses various brushes and snakes to run through the inside to clean out the instrument.

Last time I had my horn in for this operation is cost around $110 - which included replacement of all felts, corks and alignment of valve ports. It took him one day to do this work.
