What are the best products to use to

A) strip off the remnants of the lacquer
B) remove the oxidation from brass, copper and nickel silver
C) clean the inside of a tuba

I'm not looking for information about polishes, just chemicals that are appropriate for the job (and sources to purchase them). I used to use copper brite to clean brass in my college chemistry days, formulated from concentrated acids (Nitric, Sulfuric and HCl?). As I recall the formula was in the CRC Handbook, but after making a quick on-line search I am no wiser. I also remember using organic acids for the same purpose.
