Just a note about my recent shipping experience. I shipped a horn from Southern California to New Mexico via FedEx freight. The horn was well packed, then strapped to a palette. The whole package was probably somewhere around 90 to 100 pounds. It cost around $52 to ship, and that included $9,000 worth of insurance. The horn arrived in fine condition. I think the fact it was on a palette helped, as it could never be moved around by hand. I also put signs all over it saying "do not stack"...
