I'm looking for a decent but not too expensive tuba for Middle School kids. I usually start them on a Yamaha 3/4, which we also use for practice horns at home. I also like the Yamaha 321 for a full size instrument, but I've been seeing a lot of kids lately who can overplay the 3/4 but aren't big enough to physically handle the 321. I'm told the Conn 5J or the Sanders Etude might be a good idea, but I just don't know.
