Best advice I have is to get a trombonist from your local community band or orchestra to give you an opinion. Perhaps the store will let you take it "on trial" for a couple of days so that you could take the horn to the player for an appraisal. Also most people that have played trombone past the high school level are pretty well equipped to diagnose a slide problem.
