Losta consistant daily practice. Try starting out your practice day with long tones while focusing your listening on the sound itself. Try to get it as pure a sound as possible with consistancy from not to note and octave to octave. A high quality tape recorder will help you hear what is good and what is less good. You'll need some patience cause it can take a while to get the sound you are after.

Don't just use long tones though. Also take some simple melodies such as those in the Trumpet or Tuba Arbans and play them as beautifully as possible with a tape recorder. Play it back and keep going at it. Keep that focus on easily filling a hall with world class sounds.

It sounds like you have covered the first step which is to find an example which you would like to emulate. Listen to that recording and others over and over and try to play that way in your practice room.
