I guess a further clarification is necessary.
Patrick Sheridan's clarity and tone are both superb, and you should try to emulate both. The point I was trying to make is that the student should try to get the clarity and the tone first, without worrying about the speed, then slowly increase the speed, without ever losing either the tone or clarity.
