Can someone speak on the subject: different bell sizes on the holton tubas. I see 19 1/2, 20, and 22 inch bells. Is the bore the same in all big holtons? Are all big Holtons basicly their "York Copy" design? Did Holton make any bats before they copied the York? How consistant are these horns? To the guys who have owned these horns: is the 5 valve ( on the CC horn)a must? How does the high range play in the octave above middle C? Do these notes feel stable? It seems that most of these horns go for 5K to 8K. I know that the Yorkbrunner is a "different" beast. Do you really get a lot more tuba (16K) with the Brunner? Thanks for any input on this subject!
