A more precise measurement would be interesting. Older Conn sousaphones, Eb’s as well as BBb’s, have necks with an outer diameter of .693 inch at the insertion point.
Original necks to older models are said to be rare. With intervals of some months necks do occur on ebay. At least King and Conn have been represented through the last year.
