Charlie passed away in the spring of 1997 suddenly.
He went to Mr Jacobs' studio one saturday to pick up a horn and apparently went to the hospital the next day. They sent him home and he passed away that night. I had received an order from him with two addresses so I called and his father told me the horrible news. What can you say? Mr Jacobs was shocked but called his parents to offer condolances.
Charlie is missed and I am happy that Chris brought his name up on this thread. I have been watching for a few days wondering when someone would remember John Fletcher. Here was a true virtuoso and great gentleman. What a loss, we should never forget him.
