Good hints on the car. He will be driving in six months.

I bought a car myself within the last month - my first one in sixteen years. For various reasons I was really adverse to getting a minivan - but making sure his tuba (in a hard case) fit was a top priority. Each time I talked with a salesman and told him what I was looking for I would end with "and large enough for a tuba." (Actually at times I have had to drive both my sons, the tuba, the trombone, and my older son's bass or contrabass clarinet.)

I ended up getting a Concord Limited. The second day we fit two contras (in cases) in the back seat and two contras (aslo in cases) in the trunk!! We will see what happens with the getzen - while it fits in the trunk for the moment I fear once the hard case arrives the bell section will be too tall. But I am sure it will go in the back seat .
