As far as F's go, probably a good one to buy with the money you have are the Yamaha 822 or Gronitz 125. The Gronitz is on the brighter side but has no problem at all to project. They're two very different horns though. But it's a great horn to solo on. I use an old C4 on the Gronitz to darken up the sound. As far as the Yamaha, you might wanna find a used one and a good one that goes that cheap. But you can go to Tony Clements' place for a new Gronitz for $6500 I think.
