It seems to me that the quote you have cited from the Bach mouthpiece promotional information is completely and totally incorrect. Anyone who has experimented with mouthpieces on contrabass and bass tubas knows there is a considerable different in how these instruments respond to a mouthpiece. Also, anyone has stayed connected with our beloved BBS has repeatedly read about the different needs/requirements in a mouthpiece. The correct choice of mouthpiece, when matched with the instrument and the player, is of tremendous importance. I wince every time I read that statement by the Bach people. Perhaps there was a time when this thinking was prevalent. It is no longer widely believed to be true.
