The NOT-24K gold "wash" ("yellowish" in color) is really not available these days, but a heavier coating of "pure" (24K - more "orange" in color) gold is available. The cost isn't as high as you might expect.
A repair shop will charge for polishing, handling, round-trip shipping to Anderson S.P. Co., the gold plating service + A.S.P.'s handling charge, and surely some reasonable mark-up.
