You're thinking along the same lines I am. All my students who've tried that horn have used a more normal, even smallish, euphonium mouthpiece. Things like 6 1/2 AL, 7C, etc. Nobody ever used a really huge mouthpiece on it and I'm wondering if that might be the problem with the intonation. Anyhow, I'm trying to track the instrument down on this end and see what I can find out. Thanks for your info!
