If you were to play a low Bb as a pure 58-Hz sine wave, I think you'd find that most folks could not hear it well at all let alone lock into it. On the other hand, if your sound is rich and well-represented in the overtone series, then they have many pitches near their own octave to tune to. So, I think your Nirschl sounds deep (with you playing it), and is easy to tune to, precisely because your overtone series is strong and properly spaced.
