Hey all, I've been playing on a Brian Bowman 1 mouthpiece for a year or so now, but I've never been completely satisfied with it (rim is too narrow for my comfort), so I keep trying other mouthpieces. I finally got my hands on a 51D, and I expected the two to be similar (Brian Bowman designed them both, didn't he) but what I didn't expect is that they were the same. As far as I could tell, the rim width, cup depth, tone and response were identical between the two, with the only difference was the shape of the outside. My question is, what am I missing? What is the difference between these two mouthpieces?

Thanks,
Scott
