Yes, as a matter of fact I have used an F on Prokofiev 5. True, the composer has specified Contra Bass Tuba but lets face it, the piece has a soloistic part and in most cases is played much too heavy. Are you saying that prokofiev wouldn't have liked it on anything else but a CC tuba? What makes you so shure that with the light thinner sound of the Eb clarinet that he wouldn't have liked the F tuba? Your comments have SOME sound merit (have you performed this work to know) but with so many students here you might want to be more careful before you jump out on a limb that won't support you. There are several ways to do things and your may might not be completely correct.
