I'm looking to buy a Euphonium. I'll mainly be using it for my college Concert Band class, practicing in my dorm, and performances (and, if I can get it quickly enough, for a TubaChristmas event I hope). I'm not planning to be a professional musician, or even a music minor, so I really have no need for a $6000 professional instrument. I've had my eye on a Yamaha YEP-321S.. has anyone heard good or bad reviews of it or had any experience playing it themselves? How good does it sound? I think that I played one in high school, but I won't get to find out for sure if it was the same model until later this week. It certainly looked similar. The 321S has what I'm looking for: four valves and a beautiful silver shine. I'd rather have the four valves in line since that's what I'm used to. Could anyone recommend any similar instruments with a similar price (less than $2000)? Obviously I'm not looking for a compensating instrument.
