Amen! Two of the most memorable shows that I have ever attended were Brass Fantasy concerts at the Knitting Factory. What a sound and what a stage presence (the lab coat was great)! He died in Brooklyn on Monday (according to the local paper). He is definitely a jazz giant and he will be missed.
