I have an old Besson euphonium at school that is in excellent condition. I don't know the model, but the serial# is 548436, it has 4 pistons (3+1) and is fully compensating. My problem is the 4th valve. Over the past two months I have had the horn repaired twice and it now needs it again. The 4th valve is constantly sticking. I noticed that to put the horn in it's case, the 4th valve must be depressed and that there is a bracket of some sort on the back of the horn next to the valve where some kind of lever may have once been to hold it down.
Has anyone else had this problem, can I get a case that won't hurt the valve, should I just trade the damn thing in on a YAMAHA? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.
