I own a PT-20P and also a PT-17. It has been my experience in playing both the PT-20 and all the other horns out there that the 20 offers a number of advantages for the performer. One advantage is that it is a very free blowing horn. This helps the sound as long as you have the lung capacity to play it. The quality of sound is very nice through all of the registers. Secondly, in playing solos, it works very nicely in that medium. It has a nice sound and very compatible to playing with a piano. I do not know how much the MW-2145 costs but when I bought my PT-20 a year and a half ago it cost 7,750 with a high quality gig bag brand new from Custom. Best of all I think Custom is very cooperative and helpful to the interested horn buyer. Best of luck with your decision as I know buying a horn is a very big investment and a lot of money whatever route you decide to go.

Sincerely,
James Benton
