Is there such a thing as a "preferred position" for tuba in a quintet?
I'm wondering about bell direction and whether it is better to have it facing front or rear, or off to the side.
I'd also be curious about best position for the other instruments, particularly French horn.
Any thoughts, opinions, rules of thumb, etc would be welcome, as well as rationale.
