Yes, definately talk to your teacher. Especially being in school, find out your tescher's opinion on playing BBb or CC tuba. Regardless of your choice, I would highly recommend the 6/4 CC VMI 5198 Gl 'Mel Culbertson' - It is really something. Check it out.
