I think I can take credit for being the first to use Lexan for mouthpieces. It feels extremely comfortable in all temperatures and it's virtually unbreakable. For $30 you definitely can't beat these molded ones. It's not quite as clear as acrylic (Plexiglas) but it should be quite useable for visualization. I haven't actually seen one yet.

The issue of them being all identical because they're molded is not necessarily true. There will probably be minor inconsistancies, and the mold needs to be polished occasionally which does create small changes over a period of time. Probably insignificant, and I've always felt that a good design with inconsistancies is much better than to a bad design made consistently.
