I have a survey up on the web to gather research for my dissertation. The topic of this is a comparison between speech stuttering and the "lock up" problem in brass playing(this is also known as valsalva maneuver) Here is the link to the survey:

I would greatly appreciate it if everyone would take the time to fill this out, it takes about 15 minutes, and you don't have to have experienced this problem to fill it out. Please feel free to forward this to others, and have your students fill it out. For those of you who are aware of this problem, it is extremely frustrating. To make things clear,this is when a brass player inhales, sets the tongue, and is unable to release the note, literally "locking up". I have termed this problem "musical stuttering" in the survey and in my paper. If anyone has questions, please feel free to email me with comments or questions.
