the tuba should play free flowing no matter what key it is in. even if you play it with the BBb fingerings it should play in perfect pitch if you are going to buy it...only your BBb-Bb will be a CC-c et cetera...this is what I did when I got my first CC. If you can;t zone in on the open C...then maybe a little mouth piece work before practice would work or maybe the tuba isn't just the one you want.
