i'll post this to answer ur questions about the Marine Corps.

For the Marines u don't find out where ur going to get stationed until about 3 or 4 months into the School of Music.

Boot Camp is Longer for Marines, instead of 9 or 6 weeks it's 12.

Boot Camp is also very different because of what each branch is designed for. I hear but don't know for sure but the Air force is pretty laid back and easy.

If u join the Marine Corps, u'll be going to boot camp like a grunt would be going to boot camp. it's all the same. then after boot camp, u go to MCT for another 3 or 4 weeks. MCT is Marine Combat Training. Then u finally make it to the school. and during all this time u don't get to play on ur horn at all.

Musicians aren't grouped together but if u have a friend that wants to join, u can go to basic on the buddy system which basically is that ur in the same platoon or company at least.

Probably the best time to enlist in the Marines is March or April.

about where u can get posted. u have a wish list u fill out at the school. and that's about it.

Pip
