Although Jack's comments may have come across as a bit confrontational, Anthony, he has a point. Unless there is some structural difference or some special qualities that the 50th Aniv. edition contains (read: non-cosmetic) that sets it apart from your "normal" Mirafone, your price is inflated. The majority of tuba players are looking for horns that play well, not museum pieces.

If one wanted to order a new BBb from Mirafone in rose brass with ones name engraved on it and a map of their hometown, they (the Mirafone factory) will do it for you with minimal charge. Ask Charlie Krause about his horn and his son's. New Pro Mirafone 186 BBbs retail for very close to 10k as well.

Your horn very well may be worth what you're asking, IF it plays better than EVERY BRAND NEW Pro 186 BBb, and that's taking into account A LOT OF HORNS.

There are some brands and models of tubas out there that are rare and hard-to-find. Mostly because no one is looking for them.

Just a thought from the other side of the fence.
